Literature Text

Snow piles up around Stark Tower, but the inside miraculously remains warm. Christmas cheer has infected all the residents within the building, especially the owner. On Tony’s order every door to the outside world is required to have a wreath, at least one Christmas tree must be on each of the 93 floors, the outside must be sprinkled with, as Tony puts it, ‘Fucking Pixie dust, bitch.’

                You had asked Tony why this Christmas was such a big deal to him- considering you’d never seen Stark Tower so decked out, even when you’d only seen it on the outside. You’d explained all this to him only for him to reply;

“This is the first year I haven’t had to spend MY Christmas with that bitch called Pepper. This is the first Christmas where I’m actually fucking someone I GENUINELY care about. This year… just feels different… better. Ya know, you guys are all here, you and the rest of the team, and you guys are pretty much the only family I’ve ever really come to know. Christmas is a time for family, right? So I’m takin’ full advantage of what I’ve got while I still got it!”

After the little speech he’d given you, you’d cried out “MOMMY, I LOVE YOU!” and tackle hugged his ass.

This is your first real year with the Avengers, thus making this your first Christmas with them too. Apparently the Avengers weren’t really close until a few months before you were on team. By that time, Loki had already joined, and brought with him a hot French bisexual babe named Lynda, who worked as a behind the scenes engineer with Tony. By the time you and Lydia (whom everyone confused with Lynda, much to her frustration) had joined the team, it was nearly a full house. But Steve had said ‘it wasn’t really like we were a family until the two of you came along,’ and that made you feel better about mooching off Tony.

At the current moment, you are all sitting on the Top floor of the Stark Tower, laughing, telling stories, making fun of each other, and eating, all while an endless stream of RomComs played on the TV, going unwatched. You’re clutching a beer in your hands while Lydia is making ridiculous gestures, telling stories, all taking place while you were still in highschool, and everyone around you is dying. You grin at the fact that everyone is here… Well … almost everyone.

“Hey,” shouted Tony, after one of Lydia’s stories, “Where’s Frenchie and Reindeer games?”

At that exact moment, the elevator door dings, and slides open, revealing the two previously mentioned.

“Yo guys, where the hell have you been?” You turn and ask, catching Loki’s eye.

Loki arches a brow as he walks up to you. “Having hot passionate sex, obviously. What else?”

“Ha ha, very funny,” you say sarcastically as Loki leans down and presses his lips to yours. In that moment, everything is forgotten… at least until you feel your beer leave your fingertips. You tear your lips from Loki’s and whip around to find an attractive Lynda wearing tight black jeans and a white cammie, arching a brow at you, hand on hip. ‘ooooh Attractive lady…’ you think- at least until you see you beer dangling from two fingers of her other hand. “Mamaaan…..” You groan in your best French accent. “Maman give it baaack!”

“Non, jou are a bebe. Bebes do not get alcool.”

                “But mamaaan-“

                “No buts Jeune Femme.”

“Wait wait, I thought I was her mom…” Tony says.

                “We boz are.”

“Yay, two mommies,” You say sarcastically. “One to steal my Alcohol and the other to have completely unnecessary PDAs with my Dad.”

Steve snaps up, pushing Tony’s mouth from his neck (wait, how the hell did he do that so fast?), blushing. “Don’t blame this on me, (Y/n).”

“Well last I checked, Mom is the one straddling you, so you remain free from blame.”

“I’m sorry, but am I the only one who JUST realized it’s Christmas eve?” Bruce asks.

Everyone’s heads whip towards the scientist as there is a unison yell of “WHAT?”

“How could you forget, Bruce?!” You cry.

“Wait, wait, hold up!” Loki interrupts the silence. “Could someone explain the concept of Christmas?”

Once more, everyone whips their heads in the opposite way, and gapes at the Norse God. Even Thor is astonished.

“Brother, you’ve spent years of your education studying on the cultures of the other nine realms! How could you not know of such a huge religious midgardian celebration?”

Loki simply shrugs his shoulders. “See, I get the religious aspect of it. That is not what I’m having trouble with. It’s what present day midgardians have turned the occasion into. I’m quite certain it is not now, what it once was.”

“Well Christmas… Christmas is kinda like…” Natasha starts.

“It’s a time for giving,” Steve smiles.

“You go out and buy things for the people you care about to show them you care,” Bruce nods thoughtfully.

                “Bitches get preeeesents~,” Tony grins.

“Eet eez a time for family to come togezer and be ‘appy,” Lynda adds.

“It’s where everyone is off work, even the bad guys,” Clint leans towards Natasha, nudging her.

“It’s the one time of year you are expected to put other before yourself.” Lydia stares dreamily off into space.

“Which of course, sounds like shit to some people,” Natasha smirks at Tony.

“But then you remember that someone else is putting you before themselves, which is pretty fuckin’ sweet.” Tony finishes with a meaningful glance towards Steve.

Everyone looks at you. You’re the only one who hasn’t spoken about Christmas yet. You try to dig deep into your thoughts. You’ve never had much for Christmas. Your family was always so damaged, that it really was never enjoyable, so you never really enjoyed it the way others did. The nicest thing about Christmas… You  never really thought Christmas was all that nice. It’s only been recently when things got better. A few years ago, you’d moved in with Lydia and started celebrating Christmas with her. You’ve still been getting used to things. It’s only been two Christmases. The Holiday season is still bitter… but…

                But now, it’s not.

You stop wallowing in the pity you have for your shit childhood, and take a long look around the room. You look at all the people who you love more than anything. Your best friends, your homosexual parents, your French mother… what they’ve done for you in the past few months is something you didn’t expect to happen in your entire lifetime. They’ve made you a part of their family.

They’ve accepted you, and every bit of weirdness you come with. They laugh at your jokes, and eat their meals with you. They don’t look terrified or disgusted when you walk around the corner, and they’ve never avoided you. The Avengers are you family.

“I guess… I’ve never had much of a Christmas until now… But I think, personally, that this is when all the people you love… family, friends, love interests…”

You look at Loki, who gazes at you with one of the most intense looks you’ve ever seen in your life. But at the corner of his lips, a sweet smile is threatening to escape, and that makes you grin.

“This is when we all get together, drink, laugh, and tell jokes, just like we would any other day, except, it’s times like these where you really appreciate what you have. I don’t think it’s like a conscious ‘wow I appreciate you guys’ kinda deal though. I think it’s more one of those things where you look around you and you’re just so so happy ….because you get to spend this time of year with the people who make your life worth living.”

Tony starts a slow clap. One by one the Avengers join in, slowly turning Tony’s clap into an applause, which makes you laugh.

“You guys are stupid,” You grin, making Tony catcall at you with a wink.

Suddenly you’re pulled into a warm embrace, and a pair of lips are pressed against yours lovingly. In the background, Tony is wolf whistling at you, and Steve is trying to shut him up, but somehow, for once, you ignore it. Slowly Loki pulls away from you, a soft twinkle in his emerald eyes, and a smile on his lips.

                “Merry Christmas, Darling,” he whispers.

                “Merry Christmas, Love.”

The language really isn't that strong.
BUT WOW OH WOW THIS IS LATE I'M SO SORRY.
Probably some of you don't feel this way about Christmas, but ya know, what's a story without a little drama? I hope you Like! This IS a oneshot, but my coming Loki x Reader fic follows every single little guideline i've put in here. So it's kinda like a sneak peek at what you're gonna read a little later.
The later story WILL include Stony. It will also include a few OCs. The OCs in here actually don't belong to me. Lydia belongs to a friend of mine, Maddie, and Lydia, if it isn't obvious, seems to be your best friend. Even though you don't really call her 'Mom' like you do Tony and Lynda, she really is the closest thing to a mother you've ever had.

LYNDA, our Hot Bisexual french babe belongs to none other than :iconimwiththeunicorn:
and she will also take place in the coming story.

As it is, this description is way long. So i hope you all had a rad christmas, and Happy new year!
